Shipping To and From Turkey – What You Need to Know
20 October 2023
Following hot on the heels of October’s successful GTR Turkey 2023 event, Chamber International will host an in-depth online workshop, designed to give firms the knowledge they need to ship goods to and from Turkey trouble-free, and with confidence.
With a main focus on trade between the UK and Turkey, this three-hour, online workshop is open to all. Beginning at 9am UK time on 1 December, it will include the latest updates about the UK-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Considering both imports and exports, the expert presenters will address questions of preferential trade, the rules of origin, cumulation, proof of origin, documentation, Incoterms®, and more.
The FTA came into effect on 1 January 2021, ensuring preferential trading terms for businesses. Trade between the two nations was worth £23.8 billion, in the year to 31 March 2023. Turkey is the UK’s 18th largest trade partner, with main exports including power generation equipment, cars and metals, and main imports including road vehicles, clothing, and electrical goods.
Turkey straddles both Europe and Asia and borders eight countries. Its strategic location means it can act as a springboard for UK companies to do business in markets such as Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
Attend this workshop to discover what’s new, and how to adjust to all the latest developments in this important, growing trade partnership.
