Regulatory Update: Saudi Arabia Redefines Cosmetic & Perfumery Trade

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has recently released Circular No. 37719/2 on 17th February 2025 (18/08/1446H) concerning prohibition of using phrases or slogans indicating that a cosmetic product is intended for a specific geographical area.

Key Update
In accordance with this circular, Manufacturers and Exporters shall not add phrases or indications on labels of Cosmetic and Perfumery Products suggesting that they are specifically manufactured for or intended for markets other than the Saudi market. Products which are not complying with this requirement will not cleared for entry by KSA Customs.
