Record number of overseas trade offers flood into Chamber International

A record number of trade opportunities – contacts from overseas businesses wanting to do business with the UK – have come into international trade specialist Chamber International.
A total of 459 enquiries have come in from as far as away as China, Japan, Brazil and India and are now posted on the organisation‘s website.
The opportunities, from businesses which specifically want to trade, or enter partnerships with, UK companies, are filtered into the organisation through a wide range of associate bodies including China-Britain Business Council, Enterprise Europe Network Yorkshire and British Chambers of Commerce overseas.
Among are a Shanghai-based trading company seeking British beer brands, a São Paulo manufacturer of coffee roasters and grinding machines seeking a UK agent, an Israeli manufacturing of poultry feed additives, disinfectants and insecticides seeking a trade partner and an Austrian Christmas decorations and illuminations specialist looking for a UK distributor.
Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, says: “We’ve always received a steady flow of enquiries from overseas which has become a flood in recent months. We have never had so many expressions of interest in doing business with UK companies in our system.
These reflect the fact that, like the UK, businesses overseas have their sights on international trading relationships and as far as Yorkshire, as the UK’s biggest county is concerned, these are ready-made opportunities backed by the support we offer to help companies explore and secure the deal.”
Chamber International, which also runs the We are International Export Network as part of Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership’s We are International campaign, helps hundreds of new and experienced exporters with a wide range of specialist services to make exporting easier and more cost effective each year and is exclusively partnered with London headquartered global testing organisation, Intertek, to assist with a wide range of issues including product conformity.
