Islamic Embassies close for Eid

7 August 2013

Exporters are urged to allow additional time for the certification and legalisation of documents for the Middle East and other Islamic regions with the end of the holy month of Ramadan on Friday (Aug 9).

Embassies in these regions, which have already been working shorter hours during Ramadan when Muslims fast between sunrise and sundown, will close for up to a week from Friday, which  is the start of the Islamic religious feast of Eid.

The duration of the Embassy closures will vary from a couple of days to an entire week and businesses are recommended to present relevant documents in good time to allow for the delay and avoid disappointments.
