Export experts turn out to spread the word
2 December 2015
Network event to help businesses fight the fear
EXPERIENCED exporters will be sharing their business wisdom and tips at a networking event designed to help others tap into the global marketplace.
The We are International Export Network event on December 10 provides a platform for novice exporters and those considering the overseas market to meet highly-experienced export ‘ambassadors’- professionals and business people from a range of sectors who have vast experience at making the global market work for them.
This will be the ninth such session and it will follow the successful format of matching delegates with ambassadors to make sure they get the most out of their time with these top-performing experts.
It will be an invaluable opportunity to learn from and be inspired by business leaders who are prepared to share their experience and take the fear out of exporting. It is also a chance for like-minded business people to come together in a relaxed no-selling environment: suppliers of support services will not be present.
This event will also provide the first glimpse of an innovative business tool being launched by Chamber International, the specialist overseas trade body which organises the We are International Network events in conjunction with Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
Chamber International edge is a secure cloud-based package designed to make exporting simple and enabling users to have their “business in their pocket” with step-by-step help with export documentation.
Chamber International representatives will also be present to answer technical queries regarding exporting and refreshments will be provided as well as a presentation by Jo McBeath of UK Trade & Investment on a new online information platform for exporters.
Richard Smith, Managing Director of Surfachem Group Ltd and LEP Export Network Ambassador (pictured right) said:
“Speaking to an experienced exporter can help to significantly de-mystify the export process. If you don’t already know someone with the relevant experience, this event and can connect you with export experts. You can meet with other experienced exporters bringing you face-to-face with years of knowledge and gather tips on entering and operating in international markets.”
Tim Bailey, director of Chamber International said: “A record turnout of 25 ambassadors from a wide range of industries is expected on the day which will provide a unique opportunity for anyone interested in selling overseas to make valuable contacts.”
The event is being hosted by law firm Addleshaw Goddard at its stunning Leeds offices, which give panoramic views of the city.
It runs from 4.30pm-6.30pm and costs £15 plus VAT.
