Chamber International sponsors PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards

17 October 2018

Overseas trade specialist, Chamber International, is among sponsors for the PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards and International Trade Campaign 2019.

Chamber International, which last year sponsored the Micro Exporter Award, won by frangible masts and poles supplier, Pollite, of Darlington, joins other sponsors HSBC UK and the Department for International Trade.

Nominations are now being sought for the awards, run in conjunction with Newcastle-based BQ Magazine, which aim to recognise the most entrepreneurial exporters across the North of England.

This year’s awards feature nine categories, ranging from new to export, micro exporter and e-commerce exporter to most entrepreneurial exporter, export team of the year and emerging markets exporter.

The winners will be announced at the awards dinner at The National Railway Museum, York, on February 7 2019.

Chamber International director, Tim Bailey (pictured on the right below), who will be among the judges, says: “We are pleased to support these awards that do   so much to raise the profile of exporting in the north, particularly among small businesses and those new to international trade.

“There was an extremely high standard of entries for last year’s awards and with interest in international trade growing the whole time, we are hoping to see many exciting and innovative businesses entering this time.”

More than 300 people attended the 2018 awards event at which training simulator provider EDM Ltd, Manchester, won the overall PD Ports Exporter of the Year award.
