Better buildings sustainability award for ND Metering Solutions’

A major sustainability award has been won by a West Yorkshire technology company for its innovative new modular electricity meter designed for global export.
The award has been won by Bradford-based ND Metering Solutions in the Institute for Sustainability’s Innovation competition run in partnership with Climate-KIC, the EU’s main climate innovation initiative.
The award for the company’s new Multicube modular meter (pictured), launched earlier this year, was in the Innovative Metering and Monitoring category of the competition.
The competition was launched to identify solutions to enable some of the UK’s biggest commercial and retail property owners and investors to cut the environmental impact of their properties.
As part of this, the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) identified a need for innovative metering and monitoring solutions to help cut energy use across their property portfolios.
Shaped by a working group, comprising Land Securities, Henderson Global Investors, and Legal & General Investment Management, the criteria aimed to complement existing work to enhance sustainability standards across their property portfolios.
This included a need for more effective sub-metering and monitoring of their buildings, exceeding regulatory requirements, to gain a better understanding of where and how properties use electricity.
The Multicube modular meter is currently selling worldwide with recent contracts from Malaysia and Mexico.
