Chamber International freezes prices to back UK’s export growth

13 January 2014

The UK economy fared better than expected in 2013 and forecasts for 2014 are generally optimistic although, overall, conditions remain tough.

The economy may slowly be recovering and increasing overseas trade remains central to the UK’s economic growth with a series of initiatives, including Leeds City Region’s Local Enterprise Partnership’s We Are International campaign, supporting companies seeking to realise their export potential.

Exporting is often very rewarding but also highly competitive and, to give exporters as much support as possible, Chamber International is freezing prices for the second successive year in spite of the rising costs for our operation.

Hard times may bring people together but they are also a signpost to recovery and, for the tentative economic recovery to gain lasting traction, Britain’s exporters must remain competitive right down the line.

By holding our costs, with the exception of one service - certificates of conformity – we’re doing what we can to help exporters remain competitive as more and more SMEs get a taste for exporting.

Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, says: “Chambers of commerce have an ethos and duty built around helping businesses succeed and grow and this is carried through into our pricing models.

“We believe passionately that UK businesses can gain a bigger, lasting slice of world trade which is why we are extending our price freeze into 2014, despite rising costs, to help support exporters during what remain difficult trading times.”
