He will meet Roberto Azevedo, who took up his appointment on September 1, at a WTO convention Expanding Trade Through Innovation And The Digital Economy which will be attended by local and national export professionals worldwide.
Tim Bailey says: “My visit is a fact-finding mission to keep abreast of the latest world trade developments and exchange ideas with senior trade officials to help shape future services and ensure that we continue to give cutting–edge advice.
Roberto Azevedo, who takes over from Pascal Lamy has been Brazlil’s WTO ambassador since 2008 and is the first Latin American to hold the post.
More than 8,000 representatives from NGOs, civil society, academia, business, the media, governments, parliamentarians and inter-governmental organisations have attended the annual event at the WTO’s Headquarters in Geneva since it was first launched in 2001.
