International Postgraduate Business Projects

6 December 2013

Yorkshire’s universities attract students from over 150 countries, including postgraduate students who already have an undergraduate degree and are working towards a higher level qualification. Their intercultural awareness and connections in international markets, language skills and other specialist knowledge could be of benefit to your business.

Student business projects offer a flexible, cost-effective way to bring graduate skills and talent into your business.

They respond to business need and will vary in length and timing – students can work full-time during vacation periods, part-time during the term, and international graduates are also eligible to work for up to a four month period after finishing their course (usually September to December). Students are paid by the business to work on a particular project with an international focus.

How will this work in practice?

Think about your business need and decide what qualifications, skills and experience you would like and Yorkshire’s universities will find you someone who fits the bill.

To access the scheme, you will need to be a company based in Yorkshire and able to fund a project as detailed in this leaflet.

What are the benefits to your business?

  • Language skills
  • Multicultural experience
  • Contacts and networks in overseas markets
  • Experience working in global markets
  • Knowledge of ways of doing business in other countries
