Give your business a global profile by entering the Open To Export Awards
29 August 2018
Businesses wanting to create a global profile – and win prizes - have until Friday August 31 to enter the Open to Export International Business Awards.
The prestigious awards are open to SMEs around the world. Successful entrants have chance to win $5,000 towards their export plans– and other prizes - in the competition supported by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
All businesses need to do to enter is submit their completed Export Action Plan by 31 August 2018. From these, 10 finalists will be invited to pitch to an international panel of expert judges at the WTO Public Forum in October.
Free information and practical advice is offered by the awards organisers to help entrants complete their Export Action Plan, guiding them along a five-step step journey to export success with articles, webinars, and frequently-asked questions.
These cover: ‘Getting started’, ‘Selecting a market’, ‘Reaching customers’, ‘Pricing and getting paid’, and ‘Delivery and documentation’.
The Export Action Plan asks entrants questions along each of these five steps, giving companies prompts and useful resources, to enable them to create a coherent and comprehensive plan for taking their business global.
The awards are being run as part of the WTO-ICC Small Business Champions initiative.
Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, who was made a Fellow of The Institute of Export & International Trade in 2017, says: “As a business member of the Institute for Export & International Trade, with which we have a close working association, Chamber International is pleased to support these awards.”
