Get up to speed with the ever-changing world of global trade

14 July 2014

There is still a chance to get up to speed with the ever-changing world of international trade by booking a place on our popular Understanding Export course.

Scheduled to capitalise on the growing interest in overseas trade triggered by Government moves to re-balance the economy and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership‘s We Are International campaign, the one-day course, which takes    account of the latest developments, is being held at Chamber International, Bradford, on July 24.

Conducted by our senior export adviser, Mike Strawson, the course, which is part of the British Chamber of Commerce accredited range and is certified by them, is primarily aimed at those involved with export sales, payment, documentation, dispatch and import and export activities. It also provides an excellent opportunity for overseas trade supervisors and managers to get a better understanding of the detailed work carried out by their staff.

Overseas trade is changing on a daily basis but the course explains international trade concepts and procedures in practical, easy-to-understand terms. Delegates gain a good understanding of current best practice and how to apply it to their business.

The main contents of Understanding Export are: methods of export quotation, deciding on delivery terms, use of Incoterms 2010, bills of exchange/drafts, Letters of Credit, assessing risks, methods of transport, selecting and using a freight forwarder, using distribution analysis, export documentation, customs compliance and sources of help and assistance.
