Gabon's Conformity Assessment Programme to be enforced from 1st August 2015
15 June 2015
The Agence Gabonnaise de Normalisation (AGANOR) in Gabon, Central Africa, is to enforce its Conformity Assessment Programme “PROGEC” (Programme Gabonais d Evaluation de la Conformité) from 1st August 2015 following the signing of the necessary Governmental decree.
The PROGEC programme verifies the conformity of all regulated products in the respective exporting countries, ensuring they comply with applicable national, regional or international standards and technical regulations, protecting the health, safety and environment of Gabon’s citizens from sub standard imported goods. Exporters to Gabon are required to provide a Certificate of Conformity for Customs clearance. Shipments arriving without the CoC will not clear Customs.
London-based Intertek, which operates out of offices in 100 countries, assists business with the conformity testing of products bound for Ethiopia while Chamber International issues conformity certificates through its partnership with Intertek which is unique in the British Chambers of Commerce.
Exporters of regulated products to Saudi Arabia can contact Chamber International to obtain more information on the programme and also apply for Certificates of Conformity.
