Chamber International to take top Yorks delegation to global trade conference in London
14 August 2015
A delegation of some of Yorkshire’s top exporters and overseas trade professionals is being taken to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) International Trade Conference in London this autumn as part of moves to boost the region’s economy.
The conference Trade the World - Accessing High Growth Markets, will highlight export opportunities in high-growth markets and feature some of the UK’s most successful exporters, business leaders, trade associations, and politicians.
Details of the Yorks delegation are being finalised but will include businesses which contribute to Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership’s We are International initiative as export network ambassadors together with key staff at overseas trade specialist, Chamber International who help hundreds of large and small businesses export worldwide every year.
Speakers will include chairman of Rolls Royce, Ian Davis and CEO of BBC Worldwide, Tim Davie.
The British Chambers of Commerce Global Business Network, comprising British Chambers in the UK and across the world will also be there so delegates can meet them to discuss opportunities overseas and receive exporting advice.
Delegates will also be invited to put international trade questions to panels of MPs, business leaders and trade experts in overseas markets. There will also be networking opportunities with other UK and overseas businesses.
Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, says: “As part of the British Chambers of Commerce Global Business Network, we are working with the BCC and chambers across the world to develop world-class support that gives British businesses unrivalled access to global export markets.
“Businesses will have access to local support where they need it most, starting in high growth and emerging markets. British businesses need to become successful exporters if we are to reverse our national trade deficit and continue to drive economic growth. We are committed to delivering real, practical and continuing support to UK exporters around the world to make this growth a reality.
"This conference will highlight the vast potential for exporters on offer within our global network and help businesses connect with opportunities in overseas markets.”
