Cars via landbridge to Zeebrugge
10 July 2017
The first intermodal landbridge shipment of China-built Volvo Sedan S90 automobiles for the European market have arrived in Zeebrugge.
The cars were produced in the Volvo (Zheijang Geely) assembly plant in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang. The transport was arranged over the 9800 kms distance by Changjiu Logistics, DB Cargo and HAO Logistics, with Belgian partner Lineas bringing the wagons to the final destination Zeebrugge.
“We are happy to develop the rail landbridge between China and Europe together with Changjiu Logistics and HAO," said Jen Nöldner, Managing Director of DB Cargo Logistics GmbH.
"As other industries are taking advantage of the rail bridge we expect a strong increasing demand for this connection."
Dr Chen Gang, Managing Director of Changjiu Logistics, added:
"Changjiu Logistics follows a growth strategy in Europe which offers customers integrated solutions through logistics hubs, transport networks and creative value added services. This can only be achieved through cooperation with other logistic service providers.”
