Michael is a UK businessman who settled in the US in 1979 and has been the British Honorary Consul in North Carolina since 2001, reporting to the Consul General in Atlanta.  He founded the British American Business Council (BABC), an exclusive transatlantic business network, in North Carolina in 1992 and is currently its Chairman for the second time. North Carolina has two branches of BABC – in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham (Research Triangle Park).

Angus Armitage of Leeds-based DS.Emotion www.dsemotion.com will give insights into business development in the US and Michael Hughes, will share his experience of driving the US strategy of Hesco Bastion www.hesco.com whilst he was CEO. Colin Russell, Partner and international trade specialist at Resolve Gets Results and David Attia, Senior Associate, Chamber International, will describe the support available to businesses for US expansion.
