UK - Turkey Business Forum
8 October 2020
A UK-Turkey trade deal is “very close”, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on a visit to the UK in early July. The importance placed on securing a post-Brexit trade deal reflects the significance of the commercial relationship, particularly to Turkey.
“The UK is Turkey’s second-largest trade partner after Germany. Post-Brexit, one key goal for Turkey is to secure a free trade agreement with Britain. Ankara is hoping that a deal will help Turkish manufacturers while London hopes to expand its lucrative services sector. We breakdown what an agreement could mean for both countries especially as the global economy sees significant challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic.”
Extract taken from a StraitTalk interview, on TRT World, with BCCT Chairman Chris Gaunt OBE on UK-Turkey trade relations and the ongoing free trade negotiations between the two countries. Watch full interview here.
As we get nearer to trade deal between the UK and Turkey our exceptional speaker panel featuring leading players and industry experts will share insights and the very latest business intelligence on opportunities for UK products and services.
During this event, there will be a prize draw to win 2 return tickets to Istambul kindly donated by our sponsor Turkish Airlines.
