About the speakers:
In 2008, Matthew and his wife moved to East Asia and studied Mandarin full time for two years before relocating to Chengdu and joining the management team of Friends of China Foundation, an international not-for-profit organisation supporting and advising ex-patriate business-people and other professionals. From 2006 he was a senior consultant at the Sichuan Yihua International Exchange and Development Centre, where he managed a team that included non-English speaking Chinese staff.
A Chemical Engineer with an MBA, Vince has delivered factories in the UK, North America and South-East Asia. In 2002-2006 Vince led projects to deliver unique UK manufacturing technology into several Chinese Provinces.
His business operations in China have taken Vince from Shanghai to Wuhan, from Guangzhou to Harbin. He is CBBC UK sector lead for Advanced Manufacturing & Transport and has helped many UK organisations – of all business disciplines, sizes and types – to understand, enter and develop the Chinese market.
